Kokam (Garcinia Indica) uses.


🌻Sometimes in crowd of widely advertised yet not proven nutrients we miss nature’s precious gifts.

🌻You will not see any advertisement of kokam sharbat on tv but that doesn’t make it less useful.

🌻Many in our country not even heard name of this fruit but avacado is common name now.
🌻 This neglected and underused yet tasty, flavourful and sour fruit is full of health benefits.

🤔What is kokam??

👉It is a plant which generally grows in Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat and South India.
👉Its fruit, leaves, stem is used as food and medicine, its ripened fruit is red in color.
👉 It is known as vrikshamla in Ayurveda.
👉It is sour sweet in taste and heavy to digest.

🤔In which conditions kokam is useful??

✅It is an excellent cardiac tonic, it protect heart and maintains cholesterol level in blood. 💓

✅ It prevents infection. 😍

✅ It is very useful in diarrhoea, dysentery , IBS and colicky pain. 🌺

✅ It relieves acidity. 🌻

✅It heals stomach ulcer. 💐

✅It is useful in throat infection and sore throat, have its juice with ginger juice and honey,hold its water in mouth for 5 minutes. 🌷🌷

✅ It improves digestion. Useful in flatulence, bloating and burping. 🌵

✅It has antioxidant, antibacterial and anti inflammatory properties . 🌼

✅ Useful in Anemia. 🌺

✅ It Relieves excessive thirst, include it in food, have it as sharbat or hold it water in mouth 🥵

✅ Use in worm infestation. 🐛

✅ It protects liver. 🦋

✅ Its sharbat is used in summer as it rehydrate the body and prevent heat related headache. 🌹

✅ Use its water in case of absent period. 🌼

✅ It pacifies vata dosha so it is useful in vata disorders and vatic pains. 🌀

✅ It helps in weight loss. 🌼🌷

✅Its seed oil is used in cosmetic industry. 🌷

🤔How to use it??
👉Kokam is used both externally and internally.
👉 It’s water or juice can be applied in skin rashes, headache and burning sensations .

👉For Internal use
Juice 5-10ml can be taken
Syrup 10-20 ml
Tab or capsules
Leaves chutney
Sharbat or soup.

🌻Kokam sharbat – soak its dried fruit overnight add jaggery or sugar, roasted cumin seeds and salt in it.

🌻Kokam soup for winters – soak it overnight, filter and boil this water for few minutes, add sugar, salt and seasoning it with ghee, cumin seeds and curry leaves.
