Ayurvedic summer diet and lifestyle rules.


With the arrival of summer🌞😎 we started summer preparations like servicing air conditioner, putting water bottles and ice tray in refrigerator,indulging in ice-cream🍦, cold drinks but these things actually not good to balance heat there are more you can do to make summer more comfortable and to prevent summer related health issues.

☘️Summer or grishma ritu is consist of two months jyeshta and ashadh which is approximately from mid may to mid July.
☘️In summer due to extreme heat body strength and digestive fire🥵 both are less so it very important to make some changes in diet and routine to enjoy summer.🌞🌡️

👉 Do have meal on time,do not skip meals , fasting is not recommended in this season but eat in moderation.

👉In summer body naturally want light food so do listen your body have light easy to digest food, naturally sweet food. 🍉🍇🥭🥥
👉Use ghee for cooking.
👉Milk, makkhan, sweet Lassi can be taken. Avoid curd and buttermilk.

👉Eat old rice , moong daal, wheat and barley.

👉 Avoid spicy,fried ,dry,stale food,imli,achar , besan extremely cold stuffs like ice-cream, cold drinks and iced drinks.

👉 Use of honey should be restricted.

👉 Eat seasonal vegetables like cucumber, louki,parval,turai,kaddu,chaulai etc

👉Avoid vegetables like carrot,best,radish, pea,onion, garlic, ginger, eggplant etc, eat only seasonal vegetables as what available in season are provided to us by nature according to our seasonal body need we should respect that for our own benefit.

👉Consume ripe sweet juicy fruits like mango🥭, litchi , watermelon🍉, squash, pomegranate, apple, grapes🍇, pears etc.

👉Soaked nut, raisins, almond and dates can be taken .

👉 Include coriander, fennel seeds, cardamom and amla in diet. Eat ginger, black pepper ,mustard in less amount.

👉 Drink lots of water. Use earthen pots water for cold water.Avoid chilled water from refrigerator as it increases vata and do not satisfy thirst.

👉 Drink home made sharbats like sharbats of rose,khus, sauf ,and lemon also aam panna is good.

👉Drink coconut water, sugarcane juice,sattu drink or jaggery water three to four times a week.

👉Avoid alcohol completely.❌

👉Wake up early during summer. Sleep between 10 to 11 pm .

👉Massage with vata balancing oil, massage foot before bed.

👉Use cold water to bath.

👉 Wear light,thin and light colour cotton clothes.

👉 Use sandalwood ,rose like natural fragrance for body.Wear pearl ornaments, decorate home with flowers.

👉Avoid ❌excessive physical work , do excercise half to your strength.

👉 In summer, afternoon napping😴 is allowed but avoid it immediately after lunch .

👉 Stay indoor in afternoon,use umbrella 🏖️in sun.
👉Avoid drinking cold water or bath immediately after strong sun exposure.

👉 Stay close to nature , enjoy🏕️🏝️🌛 gardens,river, early sun and moon.

👉Walk in moonlight.

👉 Use triphala as it expel excess of heat from body.

👉Herbs like Brahmi,giloy,kutki, shatavari,aloevera etc are also give cooling effect, ☘️consult with ayurvedic doctor before starting any herb.
