Khichdi – how to make it and its benefits.

Khichdi is well known and most common recipe prepared in Indian households .

When anyone want to eat light khichdi is first thing came to mind.

It is good in both healthy and in sick condition

Khichdi is combination of Rice and daal in the ratio of 4:1.

🌷You can change proportion according to your taste.

Wash rice and daal thoroughly, then soak them in water for 30-45 minutes.

Add turmeric, salt and other spices if you want like jeera, hing, ginger and clove.

🌷Cook it properly to semi liquid consistency .

Add ghee before serving.

🌷green or yellow Moong dal, Urad dal should be use according to requirement.

🌷To make it easy to digest roast the mix of rice and dal before cooking.

🌷Khichdi gets digested slowly so someone with uncontrolled hunger or repeatedly want something to eat should eat it.

🌷 It is nutritive and balanced diet, good for children and elders.

🌷 It increases bulk of stool and urine out put.

🌷 Increases strength and energy of body.

🌷 Improves memory.

🌷 After coming home from work if you want something quick and nourishing khichdi is good option .

🌷It can be taken in dinner.

🌷 Avoid it in constipation and in Indigestion or have buttermilk after it.

🌷 Have it atleast once or twice in a week.
