Perimenopause – it’s symptoms and ayurvedic solutions.

🌼Menopause is complete cessation of Menstrual cycle it is confirmed when there is no cycle for 12 months or more in a row.

🌼Perimenopause is time around menopause it starts around 40 years of age or in some it may started as early as 35 years of age this period may last from few months to many years depending on many factors.

🌼 In ayurveda this period is called rajonivriti Kala. It is a period of natural transition from pitta to vata phase of women life.

🌠Symptoms of perimenopause

👉In some women menopause occurs without any problems but in some menstrual cycle only stop after suffering from many health issues for many months or years.🙄

👉Menopausal discomforts occur due to ama (digestive toxins), Dosha imbalance and misuse or overuse of mind, body and senses.

👉knowledge of symptoms of menopause helps you to prepare mentally , to make conscious efforts to have healthy food and routine .😊

👉 Ovaries gradually decrease production of estrogen hormone which is mainly responsible for all the perimenopausal symptoms.🌱

👉Irregular cycle, it may be prolonged , heavy or scanty. Different with your usual cycle pattern.🌺

👉 Fatigue, tiredness, bodyach, headache and irregular appetite.😪

👉 Vata symptoms🌀- dry skin, vagina, scanty bleeding, constipation,IBS,loss of sleep, bone loss, urine incontinence,low concentration,anxiety and mood swings.

👉Pitta symptoms🔥- hot flashes, heavy bleeding, excess sweating,anger, jealousy, irritation,high blood pressure and competitiveness.

👉Kapha symptoms🌊- weight gain, fluid retention, tenderness in breast,swelling, depression, sadness, grief,greed and high cholesterol.

🌠Treatment

✅When sign and symptoms are not severe only with few diet and lifestyle changes you can easily manage this phase but when symptoms are severe proper treatment will be required.

✅Ayurvedic medicines and therapies like shirodhara , Abhyang, basti etc are best way to support health issues.

✅Treatment is followed according to symptoms ,to pacify vata and pitta and to improve general health and immunity.

✅ Herbs like shatavari, Ashwagandha,Brahmi,Ashoka, mulethi,kumari,musta etc are useful. Medicines are prescribed according to individual symptoms.

✅ Family members should also understand her physical and mental condition and support her during this phase.

✅ To prevent stress you should spend time with family and friends. Keep yourself busy in various activities which interest you.

✅Regular excercise, yogasana, pranayam and meditation should be followed to calm nervous system, for hot flashes sheetali pranayama is helpful.

✅Sleep at 10 pm and wake up before 6 am, have meal on same time .

✅Daily Abhyang ( oil massage) before bath and on foot at night.

✅vata pacifying diet,warm freshly prepared food, sweet, sour and salt taste, include cumin, fennel, corridor, turmeric etc Ayurvedic preparation like hingvashtak churn,chywanprash also very helpful.
✅If pitta is dominant avoid hot, spicy , salty, sour food include sweet, bitter and astringent taste like rice,milk, wheat,pears, plumes, pomegranate, cinnamon, coriander, cardamom, fennel etc.

❌Avoid heavy food like meat, cheese, ice-cream etc also frozen, heavily processed food.

✅Consult Ayurvedic doctor for advice, accordingly take herbs to support general health , for specific imbalance,to prevent complications and make this transition period smooth for you. 👩
